Each Chance to Play outreach trip takes place in a community where our organization has been historically provided sustainable development to work.
Partnering with Canadian Soccer Clubs, donated soccer uniforms, balls and other gear are delivered to children and youth in socioeconomic areas, providing alternative outlets.
Chance to Play has structure our Outreach Trips to bring a variety of experiences to our teams. Every team is asked to organize and collect soccer donations for their trip. This can be done at your school and/or soccer club. Activities will be handing out soccer gear to the players, a combination of setting up and providing soccer skills and tournaments, working in the community to assist in building a school or house, and scheduled time to sight see. Our teams consist of youth and adults from the schools and soccer clubs. Ages will vary depending on maturity. It is a 4 to 1 ratio for chaperons. Cost will depend on location and length of stay. Many groups will do a fundraiser to help with costs of flights, accommodations, and meals. Spending money is extra and decided as a group a set amount.
Volunteering on a Chance to Play trip, you support outgoing soccer programming in low income communities and neighbourhoods. Allowing children and youth to play soccer, keeps them off the street, out of gangs, and in school. Your volunteer work is driven by the community and its needs. You will work along side soccer coaches in assisting in practices, games, mentoring and leadership programs.
